The design of new or rebuilt facilities must consider the ease of cleaning and environmental conditions (e.g. lighting, airflow, toilet facilities) which affect the overall quality of products.
Cleaning of all areas of the factory is conducted according to schedule, which provides for both cleaning (sweeping, mopping, washing, trash removal) of specific areas at a frequency appropriate to the activity in that area. Different areas of the factory may be cleaned on different schedules from the other areas.
If cleaning agents other than water are used, care must be taken so that the agents used do not negatively affect the products or the health of the employees.
Eating, drinking, and smoking are not allowed in any production room. Separate areas for these activities are provided.
The QA Department maintains the schedule for cleaning and maintenance. Documentation of the scheduled activities is maintained as per Cleaning/Sanitation Log Book.
Health and cleanliness of the workers is most important for control contamination and make facility clean.
